What this is
CloudHire Smart Apply is a job application automation feature designed to reduce the manual effort involved in job searching. Instead of spending hours every day searching for jobs, tailoring resumes, and applying across multiple platforms, CloudHire does this automatically on your behalf.
The feature applies to relevant jobs using personalized, ATS-friendly resumes and sends customized emails to hiring managers — all while you focus on preparing for interviews or other priorities.
CloudHire Smart Apply has two parts:
- Automated Smart Apply
- Swipe to Apply (Discover Jobs)
Together, they help you apply smarter, not harder.
Why it exists
Job hunting today often feels like a full-time job:
- Searching multiple portals daily
- Customizing resumes repeatedly
- Sending emails to recruiters
- Tracking where you've applied
This repetitive work takes time but doesn't always improve results.
CloudHire Smart Apply exists to:
- Save time and effort
- Increase application relevance
- Improve recruiter response rates
- Help candidates apply consistently without burnout
Instead of mass-applying blindly, CloudHire focuses on relevance, personalization, and scale.
How to use it
Step 1: Complete your CloudHire profile
Create and complete your profile with:
- Skills
- Education
- Work experience
- Job preferences
CloudHire uses this information to understand what roles suit you best.
Step 2: Configure Smart Apply settings
Go to the Smart Apply tab and open Settings.
Here you can define:
- Job titles you want to apply for
- Skills / keywords (for example: JavaScript, React, MongoDB, DevOps, etc.)
- Preferred locations (India by default, with options to apply globally)
Save your settings once updated.
It may take a few hours for changes to reflect, as CloudHire searches jobs, gathers recruiter contact details, and prepares applications.
Step 3: Automated Smart Apply starts working
Once configured:
- CloudHire finds ~20 highly relevant, actively hiring jobs
- A unique, ATS-friendly resume is generated for each job using the job description
- A personalized email is sent to the hiring manager
- Applications are sent automatically without manual effort
You can track all applied jobs inside the Job Insights section:
- View job links
- Download the resume used for each application
- See application history
Step 4: Use Swipe to Apply (Discover Jobs)
The Discover Jobs feature works like a swipe-based system:
- Swipe right → Apply to the job
- Swipe left → Skip the job
You can apply to up to 10 jobs per day using swipes.
This feature lets you:
- Quickly review roles
- Apply only to jobs you personally like
- Avoid irrelevant positions
Step 5: Train the AI with your swipes
Every swipe helps CloudHire AI learn:
- What roles you prefer
- What skills you want to use
- What jobs you want to avoid
Over time, this improves the relevance of automated applications sent on your behalf.
Common mistakes
- Leaving profile details incomplete or outdated
- Adding too many unrelated job titles or skills
- Not using the swipe feature regularly
- Expecting instant results without giving the system time to learn
- Forgetting to update preferences when job goals change
What happens if you don't follow this
If your profile and preferences are not maintained:
- Applications may be less relevant
- AI learning slows down
- Resume matching quality drops
- You may miss better-fit job opportunities
CloudHire works best when your profile accurately reflects what you want.
