Emerging Job Trends That Will Shape the Future of Work

Are you looking for a career switch or just curious about the latest job trends? Today, we are excited to share with you some of the emerging job trends that could potentially shape our future workforce.

The future of work is being shaped right now, as long-established industries start to see their window of opportunity begin to close. Job growth will shift toward niche areas and new opportunities. Industries will face increasing competition from global peers. Overall demand for workers will grow over the next few years.

AI-based Systems will Automate Rote Tasks:

Automation is coming to the workplace. It’s already happening in some industries, but it will soon be widespread across all areas of work. AI-based systems will automate rote tasks like data entry and routine communications. They’ll also be able to identify patterns and anomalies that humans can’t see, leading to the creation of more efficient businesses and organizations.

The first wave of automation came with computers replacing people in clerical jobs. The second wave came with mobile devices doing many of the same tasks that computers used to do, as well as taking over some more complex jobs in areas like sales and customer service. Now we’re entering into a third wave, which is bringing advanced artificial intelligence (AI) into the mix.

While it may not seem like much at first glance, AI is having a huge impact on the way we work today — and will continue to do so for years to come.

Robotics Will Continue to Make an Impact on the Workplace:

The future of work is already here. And it’s not just the rise of artificial intelligence and machine learning that has made it so. The fact is that robots are already playing an increasingly important role in our daily lives, from factories to offices and beyond.

Robotics will continue to make an impact on the workplace. According to a recent study by the World Economic Forum (WEF), about 40 percent of jobs could be replaced by machines in the next five years, which could lead to up to 700 million job losses worldwide. That’s more than 1 out of every 5 jobs currently held by humans worldwide!

But don’t worry — there are ways you can prepare yourself for this shift in opportunities and careers alike.

Cloud Computing:

As cloud computing has become more mainstream, it’s become clear that it will be a major trend in the workplace.

What Is Cloud Computing?

Cloud computing is a model for enabling convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources (e.g., networks, servers, storage, applications, and services) that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction.

The Benefits of Cloud Computing Include:

Shared resources mean your company doesn’t have to buy expensive hardware or software. Greater flexibility than traditional IT structures because you can scale up or down as needed

No need to worry about software licensing or maintenance agreements Easy integration with other applications in the business.

Renewable energy and environmental protection:

Renewable energy and environmental protection are two major job trends that will shape the future of work. The renewable energy sector is expected to grow by 15% in the next decade, while the environmental protection sector is forecast to grow by 5%.

The renewable energy industry has been growing at a fast pace over the last few years, especially in developing countries. According to a report by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), there were more than 100 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy capacity installed globally in 2016, an increase from 90 GW in 2015. This number is expected to reach 2 billion watts by 2040, or about 10% of global electricity demand.

Renewables include wind power, solar photovoltaic (PV), biomass, geothermal energy, and hydroelectricity. The installed capacity for these four types of renewables reached nearly 1 trillion watts at the end of 2016, according to IRENA’s report “Global Trends in Renewable Energy Investment 2017.”

Wind power accounted for about one-third of all new renewable installations worldwide during 2016 and is expected to continue growing at an annual rate of 12% through 2021 before reaching 1 trillion watts by 2030 and 3 trillion watts by 2050.

Blockchain and Bitcoin:

Blockchain is a type of distributed ledger technology that can be used to record transactions on a computer network without the need for a central authority. Blockchain is often described as being like a spreadsheet shared among all the computers on a network.

Bitcoin is the first and most widely known cryptocurrency, but there are similar iterations have been created since then. Many of these cryptocurrencies revolve around the idea that they can be used as an alternative form of money and transaction system.

Digital Marketing and Social Media:

Digital marketing is a booming field, with job growth expected to be 17 percent by 2020, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The median annual salary in digital marketing is $70,000.

The web offers countless opportunities for those looking to make their mark in this industry. The digital world is an all-encompassing one that offers countless opportunities for those who want to pursue careers in digital marketing and social media.

Social media marketing has become one of the fastest-growing industries in recent years due to its ability to reach consumers on a global scale. Social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn are becoming more popular than ever before and are becoming more important than ever when it comes to reaching potential clients or customers.

IOT Networks, Big Data, and Data Analysis:

The Internet of Things (IOT) is a new era in the evolution of technology. With the rise of IoT, we are now able to connect devices and machines to the internet with ease. The IoT has helped businesses to improve their efficiency by getting rid of manual processes and replacing them with automated ones.

The IOT is already being used by companies across industries to simplify their workflows, reduce costs and boost productivity. Here are some examples:

IOT Networks:

There are several ways that businesses can use IoT networks for their benefit. They include:

Connecting devices that help improve efficiency in production lines, such as automated sensors that detect when products have reached their destination;

Using data analytics to manage inventory more effectively;

Creating software applications that help automate business processes and improve customer service;

Changing how businesses manage supply chains through remote monitoring of assets and real-time data analysis.

Coding Will Become a Fundamental Skill for All Jobs of the Future:

Coding is on the rise. It’s no longer just for coders and engineers, it’s for everyone.

According to a report from IBM, 40 percent of all jobs in the U.S. will require coding skills by 2026. That’s about one in five jobs!

This shift towards coding isn’t just about technology; it’s also about preparing workers for our increasingly digital economy.

In 2016, 37 percent of jobs required some form of coding — 20 percent more than just four years earlier. The majority of those jobs were in the healthcare and IT industries — but they’re not the only ones that need these skills.

These Emerging Trends in Job Markets May Change the Way You Look for Jobs:

The world of work is changing at a rapid pace, and many new trends will shape the future of work.

Some of these trends are here to stay; others will fade away. But what’s clear is that if you want to be successful in this new world, you need to understand how it works.

These are the top emerging trends in job markets that may change the way you look for jobs.
